(Baonghean) - Many people know teacher Phan Thi Hong Mai - Principal of Hong Son Primary School (Hong Son ward) as the "innovative tree" of Vinh City's primary school level.

From the time she was a teacher to the time she became a manager, she always struggled to innovate her teaching methods, how to make it easier for students to absorb and create interest for them. She shared: “Primary school students are like young shoots, we should not focus on stuffing too much knowledge; the important thing is to create joy and interest in learning for them, then they will study on their own. Along with that, we must train life skills and educate students in ethics”. Based on the above viewpoint, she has worked hard on the topics: “Researching the interests of 4th grade students and some measures to foster students’ interests” and “Directing the work of educating ethics for primary school students”. Both of her topics were recognized as provincial level 4 experience initiatives.

In her managerial position, she regularly attends classes and visits classes to grasp the teaching situation in the school; organizes discussions, resolves obstacles with new teaching methods, and draws out optimal teaching methods to help students approach problems most easily. She also has many initiatives to arrange and rearrange the school's narrow campus, to create a playground for students to express their abilities and strengths, especially the effective restoration and promotion of folk games and folk songs. In addition to class time, students can also participate in extracurricular activities. In addition, she and the school community do a good job of socialization, contributing to improving facilities for teaching and learning, helping students develop comprehensively, towards building a friendly school and active students.

Under the management and direction of Principal Phan Thi Hong Mai, the educational quality of Hong Son Primary School has developed comprehensively, ranking at the top of Vinh City. The school collective has achieved the title of excellent advanced workers, and she herself has been honored as a typical example of Learning and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh of Hong Son ward.

With nearly 26 years of striving for the career of "growing people", teacher Phan Thi Hong Mai has 4 level 4 experience initiatives at the provincial level, 10 consecutive years as a grassroots emulation fighter, and is recognized as an excellent manager at the provincial and national levels. In 2011, she was awarded the Lotus Cup for provincial-level scientific and technological innovation by the Provincial People's Committee. The Ministry of Education and Training awarded her a certificate of merit for her outstanding achievements in primary school management nationwide in 2012.
