PV: As a young ethnic minority candidate nominated for election to the 13th National Assembly, does that cause you any obstacles?

Mrs. Cut Thi Thuy:

My paternal hometown is Keng Du (Ky Son), but I was born and raised in Muong Xen town. I joined the Education sector in 2001, during 10 years working in the mountainous district of Ky Son, I went directly to many villages and understood the difficulties that the people here had to go through, especially in education.

When the Ministry of Education and Training introduced me as a candidate for the 13th National Assembly, I was really surprised and honored, but not too worried. I think I have not yet achieved the ability to analyze and have profound insights on the country's major issues like the "big trees" in the previous National Assembly.

But with what I have learned and experienced during my working years, and with the thinking of the young generation, I firmly believe that I will have certain advantages in grasping the aspirations of the people, thereby promptly reflecting them to the National Assembly and helping to bridge the people's exercise of their legitimate rights to the highest authority of the State. That, for me, is basically an advantage, not an obstacle that makes me hesitate.

PV: What would you be most satisfied with if you became a member of the 13th National Assembly?

Mrs. Cut Thi Thuy:

As a candidate currently working in the education sector, the issue that I am most concerned about is education issues. In my opinion, in recent years, investment in education has made certain progress, but the education system of our province is still facing difficulties, from the phenomenon of moral degradation in schools, the input and output quality of teachers is not high, there are still many pedagogical students who have not found jobs after graduating, especially the gap between education in mountainous districts and plain districts is still quite high.

Therefore, I hope to contribute my voice to the National Assembly to make important decisions to change the current situation in education.

Besides, being an ethnic minority, living and working in a mountainous district, I understand quite well the difficulties and hardships of ethnic minorities in mountainous, remote and isolated communes. Therefore, with the responsibility of an elected representative, I will research and propose policies to ensure the best conditions for the people.

At the same time, have a strong voice before the National Assembly forum on strong enough sanctions in the fight against negative manifestations, corruption, waste, inflation, and environmental pollution issues. Strengthen coordination and supervision of agencies and units in organizing the implementation of laws and resolutions of the National Assembly, promptly grasp the difficulties and shortcomings in the implementation to propose, amend and supplement appropriately.

PV: Thank you!
