Donating land and supporting money for new rural construction in Quynh Thach commune
(Baonghean)Quynh Thach Commune, Quynh Luu District has a natural land area of 634.06 hectares, diverse terrain, including hills, plains, and deep-lying areas, so the implementation of the target program for new rural construction faces many difficulties.
In order to soon implement the target program of building new rural areas of the commune in the period of 2011 - 2020, the commune has focused on propaganda work, mobilizing people to donate land, support efforts and money to build new rural areas, organize training for the Mobilization Committee of residential areas, and assign command points to comrades in the Standing Committee of the Commune Fatherland Front Committee.
Along with that, the commune coordinated with organizations to organize people's conferences in villages; conferences of cadres and party members; conferences of military, civilian and political parties to contribute ideas to the project of building new rural areas, propagandize on the loudspeaker system to villages, residential areas, and at the same time announce detailed planning for people to implement. Through propaganda work, the commune has encouraged the sense of responsibility of the community to join hands in building new rural areas.
From 2011 to June 2012, Quynh Thach people donated 12,875m2 of land for roads and VND1,145 billion to build infrastructure projects. Typically, Ms. Ho Thi Lan (village 1) donated 158m2 of land, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hanh (village 2) donated 93m2 of land, Mr. Nguyen Ba Xuyen (village 2) donated 80m2 of land. In addition, people in the villages also donated thousands of working days and many types of materials to build concrete roads and irrigation canals. Up to now, 13/13 villages of the commune have cultural houses and maintained the title of cultural village, the rate of cultural families reached 82%; 100% of the residential areas in the villages have no social evils and no drug addicts.
The school system has been upgraded and newly built, kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools have high-rise buildings, the communal post office has an area of 400m2, there is a communal stadium with an area of 2,500m2, the traffic roads in hamlets have been planned, cleared and expanded. Of which, 7.5 km of traffic roads have been asphalted, 4.9 km of irrigation canals have been concreted; the communal office buildings are designed with 3 floors, the communal health station is designed with 2 floors, the water plant with a capacity of 1,450m3/day with a total construction estimate of 17 billion VND will be completed by the end of 2012.
In addition, the commune also mobilized philanthropists, civil servants, and people of all walks of life to support the Fund for the Poor, build and give Great Unity houses to poor households, gratitude houses to policy families, organize many activities to show gratitude, remember the source of water when drinking, in the commune there are no more households with dilapidated thatched houses, the poor household rate has decreased to 8.9%; 100% of families have electricity for lighting and daily activities, medical examination and treatment for people, health insurance regime is fully taken care of, basic social security benefits are well guaranteed, environmental sanitation is regularly maintained by families and residential areas.
Along with taking care of developing cultural life, Quynh Thach mobilizes people to change the structure of crops and livestock, develop the economy to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, and calls on investors and businesses to participate in building rural infrastructure and craft villages to contribute to promoting the economic growth of the commune.
From the practical activities mentioned above, up to now, Quynh Thach commune has achieved 6 new rural criteria, which are: planning and implementation of planning; production organization of cooperatives; culture; political system; security and order; electricity; school criteria and poor household criteria will be achieved in 2013.
