On the afternoon of July 17, a working delegation from the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) led by Mr. Woodbery Damian Russell - Head of Southeast Asia Disaster Relief, had a working session with the leaders of Nghe An province to grasp the damage caused by the recent storm No. 2. Receiving and working with the delegation were comrades: Dinh Viet Hong - Member of the Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Tho Canh - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Dinh Viet Hong reported to the delegation the damage caused by storm No. 2 and flash floods from June 23 to 26 in the province, which killed 5 people, left 2 missing and injured 3 people. The total damage is estimated at 1,662.6 billion VND.
After hearing the report on the damage to Nghe An after storm No. 2, Mr. Woodbery Damian Russell shared the difficulties that the people of Nghe An had to endure, and promised that after visiting the affected localities, the Association would have a specific support program to help people quickly overcome the consequences of floods and stabilize their lives and production.
Tomorrow, the delegation will go on a field trip to Tuong Duong district.
