Thanks to good fertilization techniques, their vegetable garden is always green and gives the highest income in the hamlet. This year alone, they have harvested 5 crops, earning about 30 million VND. Ms. Hien said: "The characteristics of Malabar spinach are that it is easy to grow, easy to care for, and can be harvested quickly, harvested once every month. On average, 1 sao of Malabar spinach can be harvested once, earning about 4 million VND, much higher than other crops...". Hamlet 4 currently has 5 hectares of Malabar spinach. More or less, almost every household grows this vegetable. Malabar spinach has become the main source of income for many families. Malabar spinach is less susceptible to pests and diseases, and does not require pesticides, so it is a safe vegetable that housewives love. The whole commune currently has about 20 hectares of Malabar spinach planted scattered throughout the hamlets, but mainly concentrated in hamlets 4, 5, 6, 7 with about 40% of the people participating in planting. Households grow about 3 sao, typically Mr. Thuan, Mr. Tan in hamlet 5, Mr. Ngoc in hamlet 4... Malabar spinach planted once can be harvested for 3-4 years before having to be replanted. Many households here share their experience: To help Malabar spinach grow quickly, with thick and large leaves, after each harvest, DAP fertilizer and composted manure should be used as fertilizer. According to calculations, one sao of Malabar spinach can bring in an income of 20-25 million VND/year.
