(Baonghean) - Realizing the importance and responsibility of environmental protection for improving health and living conditions, in recent times, the Women's Union of Nghi Loc district has had many practical activities to preserve the rural environment associated with the campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's", contributing to the implementation of environmental criteria in the program of building new rural areas.

Ms. Luu Thi Tuyen, President of Nghi Tien Commune Women's Union, said: Since the new rural construction program was deployed in the area, the District and Commune Women's Unions have actively organized communication and education activities to raise awareness of cadres, members and women about the new rural area; focusing on raising awareness for women about the role and importance of this program; helping women understand clearly, correctly and voluntarily implement new rural construction, with special attention to implementing environmental criteria. Programs and knowledge on environmental protection are conveyed to members and women in many forms such as: training, propaganda on mass media, integrated communication in union activities, club activities...

Every Saturday and Sunday, 100% of the branches mobilize members to clean up the community. In addition to mobilizing women to participate in the above activities, the Women's Union from the district to the grassroots level also promotes propaganda to change women's awareness of unhygienic eating and living habits, the habit of letting livestock and poultry roam free, building livestock barns, treating household wastewater, etc. On the other hand, promote the implementation of the campaign "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean" in depth with many forms such as: organizing competitions, seminars, going to families, holding hands, showing and guiding women in arranging household items.

These activities have brought about practical results. Up to now, 100% of member families have registered to implement the movement. As a result, the entire District Association has 78% of member families meeting the 3 criteria of the "5 no 3 clean" movement and 85% of member families achieving the title of Cultural Family. Ms. Tran Thi Huong Giang, President of Nghi Trung Commune Women's Union said: "During the implementation process, in addition to propaganda, we also directed and deployed 18/18 hamlets to sign a commitment and carry out general cleaning on the 14th and 30th of each month. At the same time, coordinate with the Environmental Land Management Board of the Committee to implement".

In order for environmental protection activities to spread more and more, in the coming time, the Women's Union of Nghi Loc district will strengthen the inspection and supervision of the implementation of the project, guide the grassroots associations to promote propaganda to raise awareness of environmental protection, maintain and replicate environmental protection models, participate in implementing the criteria for building new rural areas, associated with the emulation movement "Women actively study, work creatively, build happy families" and the campaign "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean" in the locality.
