Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tien Dung, Political Commissar of Regiment 764, said: In 2023, Regiment 764 was assigned the task of receiving and training 180 new recruits, who are outstanding young men selected from 21 districts, towns, and cities in the province.Nghe An.

Recognizing this as a key political task for the unit, the Party Committee and the Regiment's command led and directed the agencies and units to meticulously and thoroughly prepare for the reception.

The Party Committee and the Regiment's command have also thoroughly instructed, trained, and provided instruction to cadres at all levels and training staff on understanding the thoughts of new recruits, closely monitoring, caring for, and encouraging them to overcome initial unfamiliarity and quickly adapt to the military environment; focusing on unifying the content and methods of political education, training, discipline, building a regular system, and managing discipline for new recruits.

Specifically, to give new recruits a positive visual impression of the unit after enlistment, the unit proactively organizes the renewal of propaganda and motivational banners and slogans, flowerbeds, ornamental plants, lawns, and ensures that the living environment is well-maintained.

The team of officers responsible for training new recruits is fully standardized in terms of content, methods, and approaches to troop training. They consistently uphold exemplary conduct, demeanor, and cultural standards in their interactions, addressing and greeting according to regulations, so that the soldiers can learn from and emulate them.

In addition, more funds were invested in purchasing various sports equipment: footballs, volleyballs, chess sets, badminton rackets for soldiers to enjoy during breaks and days off. Each company was equipped with two landline telephones so that when new recruits needed to contact their families during breaks and days off, the unit would pay attention and facilitate their requests…

In addition, a Military Personnel Psychological and Legal Counseling Team has been established to help soldiers overcome difficulties and obstacles in their lives, and to equip them with more knowledge about the law, discipline, regulations, and rules in the army so that new recruits can gradually integrate and mature.

On the morning of February 7th, 180 new recruits were successively received by Regiment 764, welcomed with thoughtfulness, care, respect, and warmth, treating the new recruits like sons and younger brothers in the family.

From the very first moment they arrived at the unit, the new recruits received attentive, thorough, and gentle guidance and instruction from officers at all levels. By 12 noon on the same day, the Regiment had successfully completed the reception of 180 new recruits. The new recruits were assigned to Companies 2 and 3 of Battalion 41.

Immediately after the organization and personnel were stabilized, in addition to helping the soldiers familiarize themselves with the 11 daily routines and 3 weekly routines, the new recruits also received extracurricular training in drill and ceremony, 4 morning exercises, and were guided by platoon and squad officers on how to fold blankets and sheets, how to arrange their living quarters, and how to maintain hygiene…

Wearing their uniforms that still smelled of new fabric, the soldiers began to familiarize themselves with the new environment, where blankets were neatly folded, and trousers, shirts, and towels were hung out to dry in an orderly manner.

At the shared house, new recruits from many different regions shook hands, chatted, and recognized each other as brothers and comrades… When the commander came to visit and encourage the new recruits, the shouts of “Hello, commander! Hello, commander!” from the new recruits echoed loudly.

On their first day in the military, the new recruits' feelings of strangeness, bewilderment, and anxiety were quickly dispelled by the warm, thoughtful, and responsible welcome from the officers of Regiment 764.

Soldier Bui Van Hieu, from Vien Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, shared: “This is the first time I've been away from my family to join the army. Initially, I was very bewildered, but when I joined the unit, the officers at the company, platoon, and squad levels welcomed and guided me attentively and thoughtfully. The living quarters are clean, the meals are delicious... I feel comfortable and less homesick, and I love the unit even more.”

Similarly, new recruit Dau Dinh Nhat, from Hoang Mai town, shared: “Before leaving, I had researched the military environment, but I couldn't help feeling anxious and worried. However, thanks to the care and attention of the officers, I felt very reassured and confident, quickly regaining my spirits to be ready to fulfill the duties of a soldier alongside my comrades.”
