"After each successful day, we consider it as nothing and start trying again from zero," Coach Dang Anh Tuan shared the secret to the current success of Vietnam's number one swimmer.

“Anh Vien’s goal at the 28th SEA Games is to win a gold medal and break records in her strong events, while achieving good results in events that are not her strong points, following the development chart,” coach Dang shared with VnExpress. “Many people are talking about Anh Vien after what she has achieved. However, my student herself does not care about those achievements. Anh Vien must always forget about her victories and remember her failures, only then will she be successful.”
After four days of competition at the 28th SEA Games, Nguyen Thi Anh Vien won six gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal. More notably, the 1996-born athlete, who is wearing the rank of captain, broke seven SEA Games records.
However, Coach Dang Anh Tuan confided: "The records that Anh Vien continuously broke show that today's victory can be tomorrow's defeat, and today's defeat is tomorrow's victory. Therefore, every morning when we wake up, the two of us consider that we have never won any medals or broken any records to start training and striving to follow the right development path."
Recently, there have been some criticisms against Coach Anh Tuan for letting Anh Vien compete in too many events, which could affect the physical strength of the swimmer from Can Tho. However, he affirmed: "I do not want to mention those criticisms. I am a coach, I know what is best for her. I let Anh Vien compete in events that are not her strong points because I want her to improve herself and reach new heights. At the 2013 SEA Games in Myanmar, Anh Vien did not have a high ranking in the freestyle swimming event. But at this congress, everyone has seen how my student achieved results."
