Coach Huu Thang received good news from Xuan Truong

The player currently playing for Gangwon Club (South Korea) has fully recovered from his injury and is fit to participate in the friendly match between Vietnam and Taiwan on March 22.

“Gangwon informed HAGL that Xuan Truong has completely recovered from his right leg ligament injury and is training normally with his teammates. This means he is eligible to join the Vietnam national team,” HAGL football team leader Nguyen Tan Anh told VnExpress.

Coach Choi Yun-kyum included Xuan Truong in the list of 18 players registered for the match against Pohang Steelers today, March 18, at K-League Classic.

"Right after the match ends, Xuan Truong will fly back to Vietnam to join the Vietnamese team," Mr. Tan Anh added.

Xuan Truong is the only player playing abroad in the list of 24 players called up by coach Huu Thang to prepare for the final qualifying round of the 2019 Asian Cup.

The Vietnam team will gather in Hanoi from March 20. Two days later, the team will play a friendly match with Taiwan at Hang Day Stadium. Tickets will be distributed by the VFF at VND100,000 and VND150,000 from March 20 at Hang Day Stadium and 59 Hoang Cau.

After the friendly match, coach Nguyen Huu Thang and his team will move to the neutral Republican Central Stadium in the capital Dushanbe (Tajiskistan) to play against Afghanistan on March 24.

In the final qualifying round of the 2019 Asian Cup, Vietnam is in Group C with Afghanistan, Jordan and Cambodia. Coach Huu Thang and his team have a great chance of advancing as only Jordan is considered an equal opponent.
