Coach Kim Sang-sik: 'The players' enthusiasm helped the Vietnamese team defeat the Philippines'
Coach Kim Sang-sik said that the Vietnamese team's players played with enthusiasm and dedication to win against the Philippines team.
On the evening of June 6, the Vietnamese team had a dramatic 3-2 victory over the Philippines team, which was also the debut match of coach Kim Sang-sik.
Sharing at the press conference, the Korean strategist said:
"It's been a long time since the Vietnamese team won at My Dinh. Even though the team only gathered for a short time, the players played with enthusiasm and gave their all on the field. That was the factor that brought us victory."

"Football cannot follow a predetermined plan, it cannot attack or defend separately, but everything must be in harmony. The Philippines wanted to win so they could not control it. They may not have taken advantage of their opportunities well, but the reason why the Vietnamese team won was because they had an excellent striker like Tien Linh," coach Kim Sang-sik affirmed.

Explaining why he chose Van Lam instead of Nguyen Filip as the main goalkeeper, coach Kim Sang Sik said: "Both Van Lam and Nguyen Filip have shown good form but only one is the main goalkeeper, so it is difficult for me to decide. After discussing with the goalkeeper coach, I decided to choose Van Lam because he has better form. The competition between the two goalkeepers brings good results to Vietnamese football. We need to encourage them."

“Although we only had five days of preparation, the players played with great effort, so I want to thank them. As for the fans, we always try to help them enjoy more victories. I hope everyone will give love to the team,” coach Kim Sang-sik concluded.

Also at the press conference, striker Tien Linh said he was very happy to contribute two goals to help the Vietnamese team defeat the Philippines: "The coach asked all the strikers to penetrate the penalty area and create scoring opportunities. Losing first was a surprise, but we still kept the spirit of scoring.
Even though we conceded a goal in the final minutes of the match, we still showed the Vietnamese spirit. The whole team completely deserved this victory. We will look forward to the next match against Iraq."

With this victory, the Vietnamese team has 3 more points, coach Kim Sang-sik's students are still ranked 3rd in Group F, with 6 points, 1 point behind the second-placed team Indonesia. In the final round, Indonesia will host the Philippines at home, while Vietnam will play away to Iraq./.
