Coach Kim Sang-sik: 'U23 Vietnam is ready to bring the gold cup home to the fans'

Before the final match against U23 Indonesia, coach Kim Sang-sik affirmed that the whole team was ready to bring the gold cup home to the fans.

On the afternoon of July 28, a press conference was held before the final match of the U23 Southeast Asian Championship. Head coach Kim Sang-sik said that the whole team was ready with great determination before the confrontation with U23 Indonesia.

Mr. Kim Sang-sik affirmed that this is a special moment for the whole team, the players and the coaching staff: “The final match is the last and very special match for all of us. We will put all our energy into tomorrow's match with the determination to win. U23 Vietnam wants to bring the fans a memorable day”.

Assessing the tense nature of the match, Mr. Kim said: “Tomorrow’s match will certainly be very difficult. There is no specific factor that guarantees victory. However, the players have prepared carefully and shown better and better performance with each match. Confidence is also increasing. If we play according to plan, I believe the whole team can achieve positive results, even a worthy victory.”

Speaking about physical and mental factors, coach Kim Sang-sik added: “We may be slightly better physically than Indonesia. But in a final match, physical strength is not everything. Competitive spirit will be the deciding factor. The team that is better prepared both physically and mentally will win.”

Also at the press conference, midfielder Viktor Le expressed his readiness and confidence before the decisive match: “We have prepared carefully for this tournament and have gradually entered the final. The whole team is feeling very good. After playing against Laos, Cambodia and the Philippines, we are familiar with the tournament and ready for the next match.”

Regarding his personal fighting spirit, Viktor Le shared: “In every match, I try to stay confident. I don’t think too much about scoring, because when you think too much, it will be harder for you to achieve that. I just want to go out on the field, enjoy the match and do my best. If I score, I will be very proud. If not, as long as the team wins, I am still very happy.”
