Coach Koji Gyotoku is determined to help the Cambodian team defeat the Vietnamese team.
Coach Koji Gyotoku of the Cambodian team announced that he and his players are determined to defeat the Vietnamese team in the upcoming friendly match.
On the evening of March 18, coach Koji Gyotoku attended a press conference before the friendly match between the Vietnam and Cambodia teams.
At the beginning of the press conference, Mr. Koji Gyotoku greeted reporters and fans. Besides, he also highly appreciated the quality of the Vietnamese team:
"They have many excellent players. I don't remember all their names, but there is a very talented left-footed player (Hoang Duc - Pv). Regarding coach Kim Sang-sik, he has proven his ability when helping the Vietnamese team defeat the Japanese coach of Thailand at the ASEAN Cup 2024."

Coach Gyotoku also said that he had watched some of the Vietnamese team's matches and commented that they had a well-organized style of play, completely deserving of the victories they had achieved. He affirmed that Cambodia had also shown their strength and expressed his anticipation for the upcoming confrontation.
Regarding the chance of winning against Vietnam, the Japanese coach admitted that this is not an easy task. However, what is important to him is not only the result but also the way the players perform on the field. However, he still does not hide his ambition to win for his team.

"Our goal in tomorrow's match is to win. The Vietnamese team is one of the strongest teams in Southeast Asia, they won the 2024 ASEAN Cup. Even though we haven't prepared well, I still want the players to show their strength so that Cambodian fans can be proud."
A notable point in the press conference was that coach Gyotoku expressed regret that striker Nguyen Xuan Son could not play due to not recovering from injury.
He said Xuan Son's absence caused the Cambodian players, especially the defenders, to lose the opportunity to test themselves against one of their opponents' best strikers. "I really wanted my team, especially the defenders, to have the opportunity to face Xuan Son. It's a pity that he couldn't play," coach Gyotoku shared.
Attending the press conference with coach Gyotoku, center back Mohammed Faeez Khan also expressed his respect for the Vietnamese team. He said: "I have great respect for the Vietnamese team, they are a very strong team. But tomorrow, we will take to the field with the highest confidence, follow the coach's tactics and be determined to show our best ability."
The friendly match between Vietnam and Cambodia will take place at 7:30 p.m. on March 19 at Go Dau Stadium (Binh Duong)./.
