The head coach of the Vietnam U23 team had an important appointment and was not present at the lunch on March 28 with the team.
After a 2-1 victory over host Malaysia, the Vietnam Olympic team returned to the hotel and had dinner at midnight on March 28. The Japanese coach and his players were quite tired because the match ended too late, affecting their biological clock.
On the morning of March 28, Coach Miura let his players sleep in to recover their physical strength. He still woke up early to have an appointment with a Japanese colleague.
Coach Miura returned to the hotel at 2:00 p.m. with a Japanese newspaper in hand. |
A member of the coaching staff said that Coach Miura went to meet a friend who works in sports media in Japan. He had some questions about technical issues that needed to be answered, thereby helping U23 Vietnam prepare best before the second match of the 2016 U23 Asian Qualifiers.
Although knowing that U23 Japan has superior expertise, Coach Miura is still determined to achieve the best result against his home team. At the 17th ASIAD, Olympic Vietnam surprised by defeating strong opponent Olympic Iran with a score of 4-1 in Incheon, South Korea.
