The Vietnam Olympic team has finalized the list of players participating in the 2016 AFC U23 Championship. Accordingly, the 23 selected players will go to Thailand to participate in a friendly match with the Olympic team of this country, before flying to Malaysia to participate in the qualifying round in Group I.

As mentioned, after this morning's training session (March 19), defender Nguyen Thanh Hien (thigh tear) and striker Pham Van Thanh (herniated disc) officially said goodbye to the Vietnam Olympic team due to not recovering from their injuries in time. With the departure of Thanh Hien, Van Thanh and before that Van Tien (chickenpox), the Vietnam Olympic team only has 24 players left. Therefore, coach Toshiya Miura was forced to remove another player.

In fact, for those who have been following the Vietnam Olympic team recently, it can be seen that goalkeeper Dang Ngoc Tuan has the least chance of going to Malaysia among the remaining players. Up to this point, the An Giang goalkeeper has not played a single minute.

Based on the performance index, safety, and experience, it is clear that Ngoc Tuan was the last person to be eliminated and had to give way to his three colleagues Minh Long, Hoai Anh, and Van Phong.
