Coach Park Hang-seo honored by Asian Journalists Association
The Asia Journalist Association (AJA) recently honored Coach Park Hang-seo with the "Asian Person of the Year 2018" award.
In 2018, Coach Park Hang-seo led Vietnamese football on a journey of unexpected success. Not only shining on the field, the 59-year-old coach is also a typical representative of Asia in the field of culture and society.
The Asian Journalists Association plans to hold the award ceremony in January 2019, when Coach Park Hang-seo is with the Vietnamese team attending the 2019 Asian Cup in the UAE.

AJA President Ashraf Dali spoke about honoring Coach Park at the 2018 Asian Outstanding Person award. "Coach Park and the representatives were selected by us after AJA carefully evaluated each representative from each country. I send my great respect to Coach Park and those honored," said Mr. Dali.
Coach Park Hang-seo began leading the national team and U23 Vietnam in September 2017. Since then, he and U23 Vietnam have reached the final of the U23 Asian Cup, followed by an adventure to the semi-finals of the 18th Asian Games. Most recently, the Vietnamese team defeated Malaysia to win the AFF Cup after a 10-year wait.

The 59-year-old strategist is also considered an excellent diplomat who helps develop the relationship between Vietnam and South Korea. Previously, when returning home, Coach Park Hang-seo was honored to receive the "Person of the Year 2018" award voted by the Korean Journalists Association.
Currently, Coach Park and his students are preparing for the 2019 Asian Cup campaign. In this tournament, the Vietnamese team is in the same group with opponents Iran, Iraq and Yemen. The Vietnamese team will play their opening match on January 8, against the Iraqi team.
