Coach Park Hang-seo: Indonesia should prove it with results, not just words!

Coach Park Hang-seo emphasized: "The match is meaningful and important. My contract is about to end. If I lose, this will be my last match as head coach of the Vietnam team, but if I win, there are two more matches in the final. I think Vietnam has the best preparation so that tomorrow's match will not be regretful," Coach Park Hang-seo said at a press conference before the second leg of the AFF Cup 2022 semi-final against Indonesia.

Regarding coach Shin Tae Yong's statement that Indonesia is on par with Vietnam, coach Park Hang-seo shared his opinion: "As a head coach, you have to take responsibility for the team's results. The coach should also prove it with the match results and not say that.

I don't have the habit of judging other coaches and teams. Of course Indonesia is stronger than before, but I emphasize that they should prove it with the result of tomorrow's match. If I lose tomorrow, I will admit it fairly, but if I win, don't say that anymore."

VAR technology will not be used at the AFF Cup 2022. Coach Park Hang-seo hopes that the region's number 1 football tournament will follow the world trend.

“If VAR is applied, the quality of the tournament will definitely be better. Referees are also human, and can overlook errors in a split second. Hopefully, VAR will reduce referee errors. VAR is a common trend in the world. In the recent World Cup, not only VAR was used, but semi-automatic technology was also applied,” said Mr. Park.

“In the match against Indonesia, scoring in the first or second half is not important, what is important is not conceding and winning. We must score in every half if we have a chance,” Coach Park Hang-seo concluded.
