Coach Park Hang-seo wants to create miracles with Vietnam at the U23 Asian tournament

The Korean strategist said that U23 Vietnam is improving every day, not accepting the status of "underdog" at the U23 Asian finals.

“The players are gradually adapting to the tactics I have set out. Their playing style is also more dynamic, with a clear awareness of the goal. The situation is improving,” coach Park Hang-seo shared.

After defeating host U23 Thailand and winning third place in the M-150 Cup, U23 Vietnam returned to Hanoi to continue preparing for the U23 Asian Cup finals starting in January 2018.

“My assistants and I are doing our best to create a bright future for U23 Vietnam. I hope the team will create a miracle at the U23 Asian Cup finals,” added coach Park Hang-seo.

At the tournament taking place in China, U23 Vietnam promises to face many difficulties when falling into the same group with Australia, South Korea and Syria. The team will play its opening match on January 11, against South Korea, so VFF arranged a friendly match with Ulsan Hyundai so that Coach Park Hang-seo and his team can get used to competing with players from the land of kimchi.

“The match against Ulsan Hyundai on December 21 is very important for U23 Vietnam in the preparation for the U23 Asian Cup finals. We will meet a team with a typical Korean style of play, they will have the same characteristics as the opponent we will meet in the tournament. Through this match, the players will understand somewhat the way U23 Korea plays,” coach Park Hang-seo analyzed.

The match against Ulsan Hyundai takes place at 7:00 p.m. on December 21 at Hang Day Stadium.

In recent times, coach Park Hang-seo has continuously let his team experiment with the 3-4-3 formation. However, depending on the time, the formation will change to 4-4-2. Goalkeeper Tien Dung said that the Korean strategist requires his students to adapt to many tactical formations, depending on each ball situation.
