(Baonghean.vn) - In the press conference after the Myanmar match, coach Park Hang-seo said that the Vietnamese team will beat Indonesia in the first and second leg matches of the 2022 AFF Cup semi-finals.

Vietnam ended the group stage with a 3-0 victory over Myanmar. With this result, Coach Park Hang-seo and his team entered the semi-finals as the first team in Group B, facing the second team in Group A, Indonesia.

Evaluating the victory over Myanmar as well as the 4 matches in the group stage of the AFF Cup 2022, coach Park Hang-seo said: "The Vietnamese team won the top spot in Group B, and the players also tried their best in the last 4 matches. Except for the 0-0 draw with Singapore when the whole team had to play on artificial turf, I made many changes because I was worried about the players getting injured. That was the only match in which we did not achieve the set goal of winning, but the other matches were all successful."

Talking about the opponent Indonesia in the semi-finals, the Korean coach emphasized: "Indonesia is the runner-up of the AFF Cup. Watching them play, I see that Indonesia has changed a lot. Their squad has more quality naturalized players, who play well and have good physical strength. Indonesia will be a very difficult opponent, and they will play at home in the first leg. Hopefully we will have good results in the upcoming away match."

Before the match against Indonesia in Jakarta, coach Park Hang-seo expressed concern about security issues. A few days ago, Indonesian fans attacked the Thai team's bus with rocks, creating a very bad image at the AFF Cup 2022.

"The threat from extremist fans is not allowed in football or in this tournament. I also have to prepare the players mentally. The Thai team was threatened in the group stage when they visited Indonesia. I think the Organizing Committee must take measures," said coach Park Hang Seo.

"Statistics can always be broken. Since becoming the head coach of the Vietnam team, I have never lost to Indonesia. I am confident that Vietnam can beat Indonesia in the semi-finals," Mr. Park concluded.

Meanwhile, striker Tuan Hai shared about his goal in the match against Myanmar: "This goal is my first goal for the national team in an official tournament, so it is very important, helping me relieve pressure. The Vietnamese team did not start very well but then played more stably. Thank you to the audience who came to cheer for the Vietnamese team."
