After letting the opponent take the lead quite early, U23 Vietnam equalized 1-1 thanks to Nguyen Quang Hai in the 41st minute. The Hanoi FC striker had a classy free kick, sending the ball into the top corner of the goal, completely defeating the Uzbekistan goalkeeper.

U23 Vietnam held their opponents to a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes of official play and only lost in the last minute of the second extra time. This result brought U23 Uzbekistan to the U23 Asian Championship title and coach Park Hang Seo and his team accepted the runner-up position of the tournament.

Entering the press conference room after the match, coach Park Hang Seo confided: "First, I would like to congratulate the head coach and the U23 Uzbekistan players. Today, my players tried their best but unfortunately U23 Vietnam did not win.

Unable to break the U23 Vietnam's record once again, Coach Park Hang Seo apologized to the fans for the final result. Thousands of Vietnamese fans did not let the U23 Vietnam players be alone in the final, they traveled all the way to China to cheer them on. Fans at home also had special feelings and expectations for the championship that the Korean strategist and U23 Vietnam brought.

"We have received a lot of support from fans in this tournament. U23 Vietnam is also happy to bring joy to the fans. However, in today's final match, we lost. As head coach, I want to apologize to the fans," Coach Park Hang Seo shared.

As for coach Ravshan Khadayrov of U23 Uzbekistan, he said that he and his players deserved the championship, and praised U23 Vietnam for their bravery: “My players tried very hard. We played well throughout the tournament, and winning the championship is completely deserved. You can see that today's match was really difficult, U23 Vietnam played very well. Throughout the tournament, they showed very beautiful football. I think the problem is that U23 Vietnam is a strong team, and today they played well. As I said, they played very good counter-attacking defense. I think scoring 1 or many goals is not the problem in today's match. The important thing is that we won,” coach Khadayrov frankly said.
