Deputy coach Pham Van Quyen: 'U17 SLNA will try every match'

At the 2020 National U17 Finals, U17 SLNA was in the same group with U17 Saigon, U17 Phu Yen and U17 Nutifood JMG. In the opening match on September 19, despite being behind, the young team from Nghe An played with great courage, coming from behind to win 3-1 to get their first 3 points.

Sharing after the opening day victory, assistant coach Pham Van Quyen said: "The first match, it was raining, the field was wet, the players were quite stubborn but I think this result met the requirements in terms of achievements and the players also played with great effort. When they were behind, head coach Le Ky Phuong as well as the coaching staff encouraged us that if we lost, we would have to start again, the match lasted 90 minutes.

Before the departure of U17 SLNA, the provincial leaders as well as the club set a target of trying to reach the final match. However, we determined to make an effort in each match, putting all our trust in the players. The opponents in this tournament are all quite even in level."

Sharing about his current job, the former national player said: “From when I was a player to when I became a coach, each tournament has its own pressures and memories. Now that I am a coach, I want to pass on the best to young athletes so that they can confidently move towards the future.”
