Portugal coach: 'I believe in Ronaldo's integrity'
Portugal men's football team coach Fernando Santos expressed confidence in his players amid tax evasion allegations.
Spanish tax authorities are accusing Cristiano Ronaldo of evading around $16 million in taxes. If convicted, CR7 could face a prison sentence.
Meanwhile, coach Santos did not hesitate to defend his student. Speaking before the opening match of the Confederations Cup, the Euro 2016 champion tactician affirmed: "I have known Ronaldo for many years. I was also the last coach to lead him in Portugal, when he was a teenager. I have complete trust in his character and integrity, both as a man and as a player."

Ronaldo is now focused on helping Portugal perform well at the Confederations Cup. If he wins, CR7 will have his third title in 2017 after La Liga and the Champions League.
Portugal goalkeeper Rui Patricio revealed: "Ronaldo is completely focused on what he needs to do. He will have a great tournament."
On the evening of June 18, Portugal will play Mexico in the opening match of Group A. This is a competition that promises to be exciting and tense.
Coach Santos was cautious: "The Mexican players are all very fast and have technical playing style. They will not change too much in the way they play when they meet us."
