Vietnam futsal team coach hunts for players to prepare for World Cup

Coach Bruno Formoso said he will closely monitor the return leg of the national futsal championship to select players with high performance for the national team, preparing for the World Cup in September in Colombia.

“The door to the national team is always open to players. Those who are in good form and suitable for the team will be selected to attend the World Cup,” coach Bruno Formoso shared.At the Asian Championship, the Vietnamese futsal team caused a big surprise when they defeated "giant" Japan in the semi-finals, winning a ticket to the World Cup for the first time in history.

Coach Bruno Formoso is pleased to announce that the Spanish futsal team has accepted an invitation to play a friendly match with the Vietnamese futsal team.

The return leg of the Vietnam futsal tournament will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from May 7 to May 20. This is the last chance for players to show themselves, in order to find a place with the national team to Colombia.

After the first leg, Thai Son Nam is leading with four points more than the defending champion Sanna Khanh Hoa. The team of boss Tran Anh Tu is also the club that contributed the most members to the Vietnam futsal team in the campaign to win a ticket to the World Cup.

The 2016 Futsal World Cup takes place in Colombia, a country more than 2,000m above sea level. Therefore, to prepare for the tournament, the Vietnam Football Federation decided to find a place with similar conditions for coach Bruno Formoso and his team to train. According to the plan, on August 6, the Vietnam futsal team will leave for Spain to train. On August 28, the team will continue to Peru to train from the day before moving to Colombia to attend the 2016 World Cup on September 5.
