Coach Van Sy Son felt regretful when Song Lam Nghe An lost the victory, but was satisfied with the way the whole team played.
The 1-1 draw at Hoa Xuan Stadium left Song Lam Nghe An regretful for losing the victory in the last minute. However, coach Van Sy Son was still satisfied with the team's fighting spirit and playing style, considering this a positive sign for the upcoming journey.
Right from the start of the match, Song Lam Nghe An proactively deployed their familiar defensive counter-attacking style of play. Coach Van Sy Son's students showed discipline and solidity in defense, while taking advantage of Olaha's speed and Khac Ngoc's flexibility to create sharp attacks.
In the first half, SLNA was the team that created more dangerous opportunities. Ngo Van Luong and Manh Quynh continuously made SHB Da Nang goalkeeper Van Bieu's goal wobble with close-range shots. However, the lack of precision in finishing prevented the Nghe An team from converting their advantage.

On the other side, SHB Da Nang remained loyal to the wing attack style, taking advantage of the speed of Phi Hoang and Van Long. At the end of the first half, the home team also created some dangerous opportunities, but goalkeeper Cao Van Binh played with concentration, making excellent saves for SLNA. The two teams ended the first 45 minutes with a 0-0 draw.
In the second half, the game did not change much. SLNA still maintained a reasonable formation, defended tightly and waited for counter-attack opportunities. The visitors' efforts were finally rewarded in the 81st minute, when center-back Justin Garcia jumped high to head the ball into the SHB Da Nang net, opening the score 1-0.
The goal boosted the morale of the Nghe An players, and they were very close to their second win of the season. However, the cruel scenario happened in the last minute of extra time. SLNA's defense suddenly lost focus, allowing home team center-back Kim Dong-su to comfortably tap the ball into the net to equalize 1-1. The final whistle sounded with regret from the entire away team. A match in which SLNA controlled the game well, created many opportunities and played with great effort, but could not leave Hoa Xuan with all 3 points.

Speaking after the match, coach Van Sy Son could not hide his regret: “I am truly sorry. In the context of the team facing many difficulties in terms of personnel, the players fought with great effort. We were very close to victory, but just a moment of lapse of concentration in the 96th minute made the whole team pay the price with an unfortunate loss.”
However, the coach born in 1972 still praised the fighting spirit and the way his players entered the game: "The whole team created many opportunities. I am satisfied with the way the players approached the match, although the accuracy in finishing is still limited. SLNA's playing style is gradually becoming more coherent, the coordination and transition are also more effective than in previous rounds."

When asked about the team's difficulties, coach Van Sy Son admitted that the tight schedule and injuries were big problems, but affirmed that the team's spirit was still very positive: "Some key players are injured, the next generation is still weak, but the good news is that the young players are improving day by day. This team is showing great effort and desire."
The Nghe An coach also said that he and his colleagues will continue to maintain solidarity, stick with the current playing style and adjust tactics to suit the personnel situation. “We will improve our mentality and adjust our tactics to be more reasonable. The season is still long, and I believe SLNA will overcome this difficult period with the fighting spirit of the Nghe An people.”
With 1 point won at Hoa Xuan Stadium, Song Lam Nghe An now has 7 points after 9 rounds and is temporarily still at the bottom of the table. Although not satisfied with the result, the positive signals about the playing style and fighting spirit are helping Nghe An fans hope for a strong comeback of the team in the journey ahead.
