Support rice and salt for people in Xay Cham Phon district (Laos)

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 29, 2014, Thanh Thuy Border Guard Station coordinated with Thanh Chuong District - Nghe An Province to visit and support rice and salt for the people of Xay Cham Phon District, Bolikhamxay Province (Laos).

Implementing the foreign affairs program to build the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos and support the people of Xay Cham Phon district, Bo Ly Kham Xay province (Laos) to overcome difficulties before the crop season, the delegation of Thanh Chuong district officials, together with the departments and branches of the district and Thanh Thuy Border Guard Station - Nghe An Border Guard, led by comrade Dang Anh Dung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, visited and provided famine relief for the people of Xay Cham Phon district, Bo Ly Kham Xay province (Laos). The total amount of rice supported was 5 tons and 1 ton of salt (in which the officers and soldiers of Thanh Thuy Border Guard Station voluntarily contributed and mobilized and some agencies, businesses and benefactors supported 2 tons of rice).

To reach the rice support location, the delegation of Thanh Chuong district officials and Thanh Thuy border gate border guard station had to cross 26 km of forest road in rainy and windy weather, slippery roads, and dangerous steep passes, but with the spirit of helping a friend as if helping themselves, the delegation arrived and gave gifts to the people of the neighboring country.

This is a meaningful work, further enhancing the traditional friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
