Tuition support for ethnic minority students
The Minister of Education and Training (MOET) and the Minister of Finance have just issued a joint circular guiding the implementation of Decision No. 66/2013/QD-TTg dated November 11, 2013 of the Prime Minister, regulating the policy of supporting study costs for ethnic minority students studying at universities and colleges.

According to the circular, to enjoy the study cost support policy, students must meet the following conditions: be an ethnic minority from a poor or near-poor household according to regulations approved by the Prime Minister from time to time, and pass the entrance exam to a regular university or college.
The level of study cost support is equal to 60% of the basic salary and is enjoyed for no more than ten months/school year/student, the number of years of study support is based on the official training period.
For students studying at public universities: send documents to the public universities where the students study; For students studying at non-public universities: send documents to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs at the district, county, town, or provincial city level where the students have permanent residence.
The time to provide funding to support study costs is done twice during the school year: the first time is provided for five months in October or November every year; the second time is provided for five months in March or April of the following year. In case the student has not received the regime within the prescribed time limit, they will receive the back payment in the next payment...
The time for implementing the student support policy stipulated in the joint circular is calculated from January 1, 2014. This joint circular takes effect from November 28, 2014.
