Support students to buy bus tickets home for Tet at school

Universities, academies; colleges and vocational schools should proactively contact transportation companies to organize ticket sales for students at schools or dormitories; arrange schedules for students to take Tet holiday 2014 and gather after Tet appropriately to avoid causing tension at traffic hubs.

That is the request of the Ministry of Education and Training to the Departments of Education and Training and schools to ensure traffic safety and order during the New Year, the Year of the Horse and the Spring Festival 2014.

Along with that, develop a specific plan for propaganda, dissemination and education of laws on ensuring traffic safety and order on roads, railways and inland waterways for students;

Thoroughly educate staff, teachers and students to strictly follow the regulations on not drinking alcohol before driving, regulations on wearing helmets and compliance with traffic safety rules. Require staff, civil servants and teachers not to drink alcohol at noon and during working hours according to regulations.

The Departments of Education and Training have strongly directed schools to hold meetings with parents to propagate, remind, and sign commitments not to give motorbikes to students without a driver's license and commit to wearing helmets for students when riding motorbikes and scooters; propagate to students that when driving "electric bicycles and electric scooters" they must comply with traffic rules; have specific regulations on disciplinary action appropriate to violations to deter and educate students and notify all parents to implement together.
