Miss Diem Huong: 'My ex-husband paid me 10 million USD if I had a child'

Diem Huong crowned Miss "Vietnamese World 2010” when she was only 20 years old. After a tumultuous marriage with tycoon Truong Chinh, in 2015 Diem Huong married Quang Huy. They have a son together. After getting married, Diem Huong rarely participates in showbiz activities but focuses on taking care of her husband, children and business.

Diem Huong has been quite in demand in recent years as she has been continuously invited to be a judge in beauty contests at home and abroad. Recently, she accepted to sit in the hot seat of the contest.Miss Dong Nai Tourism 2019, with supermodel Anh Thu andMiss Earth 2018- Phuong Khanh.

On this occasion, Diem Huong openly shared about her current life, as well as spoke up about rumors of plastic surgery to the point that many people "couldn't recognize her".

Diem Huong sits in the hot seat of the contest "Miss Dong Nai Tourism 2019".

- In recent years, Diem Huong has been continuously sitting in the hot seat of many different beauty contests. Many viewers think that she is easygoing, even disregarding the judging of "village" contests... What do you think?

- Actually, recently I have limited my hot seat in beauty contests compared to previous years. I remember at the peak, I judged one contest every week, with many different scales and not as invested as now. In the past 1 to 2 years, I started to sit in contests that were organized grandly and invested carefully. I also saw more open policies for contests from state agencies. So why should I be afraid? Through contests, contestants have the opportunity to interact and learn a lot of useful experiences. From the provincial level, beauty representatives will compete in national contests, then go further to the world. I am very happy because I have contributed to finding new factors.

- Besides being a judge in beauty contests, what other activities do you do?

- I am shifting more towards the field of artistic activities, especially acting. I do not expect to become more famous or to win the Mai Vang award. If in the future I have the opportunity to receive an award, I will be even more honored and proud. When I go out, I want the audience to know me not only as a beauty queen but also as an actress. That is the happy goal I set for the future.

Diem Huong is currently in high demand as a judge in beauty contests.

- Recently, your beauty has caused controversy because there are many differences compared to the time you were crowned Miss World Vietnam 2010. What do you say about the rumors that you have undergone plastic surgery to improve your appearance?

- At first, I felt quite annoyed about this issue. However, later I felt happy because the audience still cared about me. 10 years ago, I was known and made a splash thanks to my beauty. 10 years later, people are still interested in my beauty, which I think is not something that every beauty queen has. I think that is my blessing. Therefore, if possible, I will maximize my efforts so that people can pay attention to my beauty. And I think I am going in a positive direction, most people praise Diem Huong today as more beautiful, younger and more radiant. I feel very happy about those things. I think that is not too strange because state laws still change, so people have to change with time. It is impossible to compare a 19-year-old girl with a woman who has given birth to a child after 10 years.

Nowadays there are many high-tech beauty techniques, unlike in the past when you had to use a knife. I am a businessman, and I am in the dental and beauty salon business, so I have many opportunities to be exposed to the most advanced beauty techniques. My collagen facelift has also made a difference.

Diem Huong's controversial beauty 10 years after being crowned Miss "World Vietnamese 2010".

I think plastic surgery is not bad. I will support anyone who gets plastic surgery if they find joy after becoming more beautiful. During the time I was depressed, I felt self-conscious about my appearance. So I always wanted to change myself to escape that sadness. I also tried to use technology and gradually improve my body's flaws. However, later I realized that only by living happily, optimistically, and exercising regularly will I be able to keep my skin plump and youthful. There was a time when I weighed 70 kg, now I'm down to 49 kg, which is a big difference and change.

- How do you take on the role of mother?

- When my child turned 3 years old, I no longer felt like a mother, but like I had a close friend. Instead of eating alone, now there is someone to eat with, and we talk about everything. I will play the role of an adult to teach my child, I do not pressure myself to be a mother. We grow up together, mature together and recognize each other's mistakes. My process of being a mother is very simple. I want to maintain a friendship with my child until he grows up.

Beauty with son

- After publicly revealing the identity of the person who invited you to "entertain" guests for 2 hours for 40,000 USD, did you continue to encounter trouble?

- Actually, I don't have many of these problems, but every time I meet them, I get paid a huge price. There was a sad day when I also hoped that someone would seduce me, so that I would feel that I was still valuable (laughs). Maybe after that public announcement, people put me on the blacklist so I didn't receive many invitations anymore. Honestly, I don't want to reveal the identity of the person who offered me the price, but maybe they didn't understand my message, so I had to do what needed to be done. I don't need it, if someone lends me 40,000 USD and signs the paper, I agree to accept it. I use that money to do business and pay the bank installments. But if I take 40,000 USD from someone, I wouldn't dare, because no one gives me anything for free.

My ex-husband also offered me several million dollars. Or 10 million dollars for each child I gave birth to. But when we broke up, as you know, I left empty-handed, without taking anything.

- Is the relationship between you and your mother peaceful now?

- My family is very happy. In the family, parents never abandon their children. Only the daughter is not really good enough for her parents to understand her thoughts. And as a child, I have the responsibility to make my parents understand and love me. I thank God for making everything happen.
