The beauty queen shared on her personal page that she wants to spend more time becoming a missionary. Ariel Pearse beat 59 other contestants to win the 19th Miss Tourism International title (the contest ended in Malaysia on the night of December 31, 2016).

The secondary awards given in the final night included: Miss Southeast Asia Tourism: Indonesia, Miss Global Tourism: Australia, Miss World Tourism: Brazil, International Beauty of the Year: Mexico. Vietnam's representative was Pham Thuy Linh - silver medalist of Vietnam Supermodel 2010 (1.75 m tall, measurements: 85 - 65 - 95) who won the Traditional Costume award. From Malaysia, Thuy Linh told Thanh Nien reporter: "This is Tuan Hai's design. The final night's result was too surprising because the beauties predicted to win the award were not in the top 5. I am very happy with this secondary award."
