Vietnamese beauty queen in Russia arrested for investigation of fraud

The Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency confirmed that it has just served the decisions to prosecute the accused and execute the temporary detention order against Ms. Truong Ho Phuong Nga (born in 1987, residing in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City).

Ms. Truong Ho Phuong Nga is known as the winner of the Miss Vietnamese title in the Russian Federation in 2007.

Ms. Nga was prosecuted and detained for 3 months for investigation and handling of the act of "fraudulent appropriation of property."

The arrest of Ms. Nga was carried out by the Criminal Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police at noon on March 19 at her apartment in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City.

Initial information shows that while living in Vietnam many years ago, Truong Ho Phuong Nga had a romantic relationship with businessman H., residing in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.

Ms. Nga told Mr. H. that with her "role" as a beauty queen, she had connections that could buy houses at cheap prices, so she invited Mr. H. to buy the house in order to resell it for profit.

Because he believed Ms. Nga, Mr. H. gave Ms. Nga 5.6 billion VND to buy a house in District 5.

However, later, Ms. Nga said that the purchase of the house was not successful and continued to "entice" Mr. H. to give more money to buy a bigger house.

Mr. H. still trusted Ms. Nga and continued to give her more money. In total, Mr. H. gave Ms. Nga more than 16 billion VND.

After taking the money, Mrs. Nga avoided Mr. H. Seeing signs of being cheated, Mr. H. reported it to the police.

After a period of investigation and verification, the police have now executed an arrest warrant for Ms. Nga.

After being crowned “Miss Vietnam in Russia 2007,” returning to Vietnam, Ms. Truong Ho Phuong Nga became quite famous as a show host and participated in a number of domestic films./.
