The final night of the Miss World 2014 contest held in London, England on the evening of December 14 (Vietnam time) officially ended with the victory belonging to the representative from South Africa, Rolene Strauss.

In a private meeting on December 12, Ms. Julia Morley - Miss World's president, announced to the countries that the bikini competition will be officially eliminated starting from 2015.
“The Miss World Organization has decided that there will be no more swimsuit performances on the Final night stage, because that is not the criteria for them to choose the worthy person to wear the Crown. With the slogan “Beauty with a purpose”, Miss World is not just a beauty contest. Besides physical beauty, the contest also pays special attention to the intellectual beauty and personality of the contestants. And the purpose of beauty is not just about swimsuits,” added Chris Wilmer, Director of the Miss World America/Miss United States Organization.

Instead, the pageant organizers want their contestants to focus on worthy causes such as charity work and awareness raising.
“Miss World has to be someone who can help the community. Her role is as an ambassador, not just a beauty queen. That's what she has to do during her tenure,” Wilmer told ABC News.
