(Baonghean) -His wife died, he himself was a severely disabled veteran with one leg amputated, his son Nguyen Huu Chinh was electrocuted and disabled, that was the tragic situation of Mr. Nguyen Huu Chien - a 2/4 disabled veteran in Vinh Thanh hamlet, Nam Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district (Nghe An).

Every day, people see Mr. Nguyen Huu Chien (a war invalid with one leg) cooking, taking care of, and feeding porridge to his disabled child. When we arrived at the house, we saw Chinh lying on the bed, his eyes closed, his voice weak and intermittent. Graduated from Vinh University - Faculty of Mathematics in 2006, after graduation he could not find a job, in 2007 he went to work for Xuan Long Company Limited in Ho Chi Minh City (specializing in installing telephone cables). One day in April 2009, he was hanging from an electric pole to install telephone cables, but the pole was electrified, he was electrocuted and fell from a height of about 5 meters, passed out, when he woke up he found himself in the hospital...

Mr. Nguyen Huu Chien, a 2/4 disabled veteran with no legs, is taking care of his grandson Nguyen Huu Chinh on the hospital bed.

Mr. Chien's eyes were filled with tears: My child's back and both legs were broken. For nearly 3 years, he had been eating and lying in one place, so many parts of his body were necrotic. For many days, my child had a high fever, his wounds tormented him, and he was in pain all over his body. Mr. Chien himself is a 2/4 severely disabled veteran, with 61% of his strength lost. He was injured by a mine explosion during the war against Pol Pot in Cambodia in 1978. His wife died of heart disease in 2009, leaving behind the burden of life, Nguyen Huu Chinh, disabled, and his 2 younger siblings. Mr. Chien's family's life depends on 3 fields of rice and the disabled veteran's allowance, but it is not enough to live on. Having lost a leg, his body is still full of shrapnel and mines, and he is exhausted, but every day Mr. Chien still has to go to the market, sell pigs... to earn money to raise his children.

Mr. Chien confided: Chinh was electrocuted and disabled but did not receive any compensation, but received a small monthly insurance benefit because he had previously contributed. On holidays, Xuan Long Company Limited gave him a few hundred thousand. Every day, he still had to take medicine for Chinh such as antibiotics, painkillers, cotton, gauze... which cost at least 3 million VND/month, not to mention the cost of daily care for the child.
The family of war invalid Nguyen Huu Chien is in dire need of the community's help to have the conditions to take care of their disabled child./.
