Completion of the Project to Cover Lotus Ponds in Uncle Ho's Hometown

(Baonghean) - In the hearts of every Vietnamese, lotus is a flower symbolizing bright, noble and pure beauty, bearing national characteristics. To express the people's infinite gratitude to the great President Ho Chi Minh - National Liberation Hero, World Cultural Celebrity, starting from January 2012, the Party Committee and the Kim Lien Commune government have disseminated the plan and agreed on the implementation plan for the lotus planting project along the road leading to Uncle Ho's paternal and maternal hometowns. The lotus planting project is funded by the North Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank and assigned to the commune for management.



The ponds along Provincial Road 540 are covered with lotus.

Up to now, lotus flowers have covered all the ponds along Provincial Road 540 and the rice fields along National Road 46 with a total area of ​​38,727m2. These ponds were formerly used for aquaculture and have now been liquidated and converted to lotus cultivation. All products are harvested by the contracted households and the commune allows fish to be released when the lotus is fading.

The road leading to Sen village is winding and winding, along both sides of Provincial Road 540, the green lotus ponds swaying in the wind with their sweet fragrance have become an image deeply imprinted in the minds of visitors from all over the world every time they come to Kim Lien.
