(Baonghean.vn) -On January 15, the Party Committee and Command of the Border Guard of Nghe An province held a conference to review the Border Guard work in 2013 and deploy tasks for 2014.

In 2013, the Party Committee and Command of the Provincial Border Guard led and directed the unit to successfully complete the set targets and resolutions. Political and ideological work and combat readiness training were improved in all aspects, thereby helping units in the whole province to be proactive and ready to complete tasks in all situations; coordinate with all levels, sectors and forces in building and protecting border security and sovereignty, contributing to building a solid border defense posture in the defense area.

During the year, the Provincial Border Guard advised the Provincial People's Committee and effectively acted as the core in organizing the completion of border demarcation, marker planting, renovation, and increase of border markers at Thanh Thuy Border Gate, and performed well the border foreign affairs work. Coordinated the organization of village-to-village twinning ceremonies between the two sides of the border, contributing to building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and developed border area. Regarding security, order, and social safety, the Provincial Border Guard promptly prevented and handled complicated developments in the illegal exploitation and transportation of forests and minerals in the border area, effectively fought against all types of crimes, especially crimes of illegal drug trafficking and transportation, explosives, and trafficking of women across the border, effectively implemented the poverty reduction project in the border area, built economic development models associated with new rural construction, contributing to ensuring security, order, and economic, cultural, and social development in the border communes of the province.

Summing up the emulation movement to win in 2013, Nghe An Border Guard was awarded the excellent emulation flag by the Ministry of National Defense, many collectives and individuals were commended by all levels and sectors.

At the conference, the Party Committee and the Provincial Border Guard Command launched the Emulation movement to win, determined to successfully complete the border guard tasks in 2014. These included strictly implementing the directives and orders of superiors, competing to implement the 5 commands in the unit, successfully completing the task of protecting territorial sovereignty, ensuring security, politics, social order and safety in the border area, training well for combat readiness, effectively managing and controlling immigration, promoting border foreign affairs activities and mass mobilization work in the area.
