Complete the draft Land Law (amended) before May 10, 2013

According to the Plan to organize public consultation on the draft Land Law (amended) just approved by the Prime MinisterpromulgateThe Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment must send the National Assembly Standing Committee the revised and finalized draft Land Law according to comments before May 10, 2013.

The draft Land Law (amended) is posted in full on Nhan Dan newspaper, Lao Dong newspaper, the Government Electronic Information Portal, the websites of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the General Department of Land Management; the websites of the People's Councils and People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities for agencies, organizations and individuals to contribute their opinions.

Subjects for consultation on the draft Land Law (amended) include: People's Councils, People's Committees at all levels; socio-political organizations, socio-political-professional organizations; socio-professional organizations and other social organizations; enterprises, research institutes, academies, universities; and people of all walks of life.

The purpose of organizing the consultation on the provisions of the draft Land Law (amended) is to promote the right to ownership, mobilize the intelligence and enthusiasm of the people, create consensus among the people and express the aspirations of the people. At the same time, raise awareness among all classes of people and the responsibility of People's Councils, People's Committees at all levels, organizations and individuals towards the amendment of the Land Law.

The Draft Law on Land (amended) is consulted through many forms such as: Direct comments or written comments sent to agencies and organizations assigned to collect public opinions (individuals sending written comments by post do not need to have stamps attached); discussions at conferences and seminars by region and by area; comments through the Government's Electronic Information Portal, the Electronic Information Portal of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the General Department of Land Management; Electronic Information Portal of People's Councils and People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities.

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Information and Communications to direct central and local news agencies and press to plan propaganda in various appropriate forms during the process of collecting opinions on the draft Land Law (amended); and to direct postal agencies to receive and forward individuals' opinions to the receiving agencies.

Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam Television and news agencies and newspapers will open special pages and columns to reflect, report and promptly publish people's contributions, initiatives and proposals on the draft Land Law (amended) and collect comments and suggestions to send to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for synthesis.

Report on the results of comments on the draft Land Law (amended) from agencies, organizations, and People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment before April 5, 2013.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment reports the results of comments on the draft Land Law (amended) to the Government before April 15, 2013.
