(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing Decree 67/ND/CP dated July 7, 2014 on a number of policies for fisheries development, including the policy of supporting loan interest rates for fishermen to build new boats, Hoang Mai Town is establishing a survey team to review the number of fishermen registering to build new boats.

The 1,200 CV ship at the Quynh Lap commune shipyard is about to be completed.

In 2014, Hoang Mai Town had 962 fishing vessels, with nearly 6,000 workers participating in fishing at sea. On average, Hoang Mai fishermen build and buy about 30 to 40 vessels each year. In the first 7 months of this year alone, the shipbuilding village of Quynh Lap Commune completed and launched 15 large-capacity ships from 600 CV to 1,200 CV. In addition, fishermen in Quynh Phuong and Quynh Loc also imported over 10 ships from Thanh Hoa and Thai Binh provinces. Most of the current trend of fishermen is determined to build large ships with large engines to go offshore to ensure safety and enhance the position of the fleet in the East Sea.

Especially after the Government issued Decree 67/ND/CP dated July 7, 2014 on a number of policies for fisheries development, including the policy of supporting interest rates for loans to build large-capacity ships, Hoang Mai fishermen promptly grasped the policy and registered. Up to this point, fishermen have registered to build 284 new vessels, of which 13 are iron-hulled ships and 271 are wooden-hulled ships.
