This tournament is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Association, the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army and the 25th anniversary of the National Defense Day. The tournament has the participation of 12 teams with nearly 150 athletes who are members of the Veterans Association of communes, wards, blocks, agencies and enterprises in the town. Organizing a volleyball tournament for cadres and members has the effect of encouraging the spirit of physical exercise and training the body following the example of great Uncle Ho. At the same time, it aims to arouse and contribute to building the sports movement in the whole town to develop more and more, attracting a large number of members to participate, train their health to complete all assigned tasks well, always upholding the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers".

The tournament is expected to take place over 3 days. Right after the opening ceremony, there were 2 exciting matches between the teams: Quynh Xuan Ward Veterans and the City Party Committee Office Veterans; Quynh Thien Ward Veterans and Quynh Trang Commune Veterans.
