(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 27, the Bac Nghe An Quarantine Station destroyed 3,500 one-day-old chickens and ducks without quarantine certificates.

Previously, on July 22, at the Bac Nghe An Animal Quarantine Checkpoint, Hoang Mai town, the Quarantine Station inspected and detained a passenger car driven by Mr. Nguyen Nhat Anh, residing in Cua Lo town, transporting 2,600 chickens and 900 ducks 1 day old; The chickens and ducks did not have quarantine certificates, and the owner could not prove the origin of the above shipment as required by the specialized agency. Currently, 50% of the above poultry have died for unknown reasons, posing a risk of environmental pollution.

Faced with the complicated situation of the H5N6 epidemic returning, the Bac Nghe An Quarantine Station has sprayed disinfectants, then burned, buried and destroyed the chickens and ducks according to the procedures and regulations of the Veterinary Ordinance to ensure technical standards and environmental hygiene./.
