Wild and mysterious Plain of Jars (Xieng Khouang - Laos)
(Baonghean.vn) -Located 5km from the center of Phonsavan, Xieng Khouang province (Laos), the Plain of Jars in Xieng Khouang is not only a famous tourist destination in Xieng Khouang province but also a place that marks the fierce battles between Vietnamese and Laotian troops and the American imperialists during the fiery days of war.
Stretching for thousands of meters, large and small jars, tall and short, lie along the hillsides. No one knows how these stone jars were made, when they were built, and what they were used for. But time has covered the jars with white moss, and rain and sun have eroded some of the ground, tilting the jars. The jars still lie quietly scattered, filled with rainwater and many questions. But for tourists, the name "Plain of Jars Xieng Khouang" is both strange and familiar, and still mysteriously attractive every time they have the opportunity to set foot here to enjoy the fresh, cool, and comfortable atmosphere of the Xieng Khouang plateau.
