Today (May 16), workers in Vung Ang Economic Zone (Ha Tinh) returned to work, production and business activities continued as usual.

After the clash in the Vung Ang economic zone, Ha Tinh province mobilized the entire political system to intervene, propagate and encourage workers to obey the law. At the same time, it strictly handled those who incited disturbances and took injured workers to emergency care in time.

Provincial leaders also worked with Fomusa company to ensure security and order and protect the lives and property of workers.

Mr. Tran Dac Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Ha Tinh Provincial Labor Federation, said: “Currently, the situation in Vung Ang Industrial Park has returned to normal. Due to the complicated situation, Taiwanese and Chinese workers have been brought inside the fence for safety. As for Vietnamese workers, some places where there are concerns have been paid wages and salaries since May 15, and other places with problems will continue to be handled. Some workers have returned to their hometowns, while those who remain have returned to work.”

In the past two days, leaders of Ha Tinh province and the provincial Labor Federation coordinated with grassroots unions and local authorities to directly go to workers' accommodations in the Vung Ang Economic Zone to propagate, mobilize, and explain to workers to correctly understand the situation in the East Sea, show patriotism but must comply with the law, maintain security and order, and stabilize production.

Mr. Tran Dac Hoa added: The Labor Federation from the province to the district and commune levels have all taken action. At the same time, the Provincial Labor Federation also supports emergency cases such as visiting workers who have had accidents in the hospital, and adding more Chinese teachers to the hospital to translate and support the treatment of Chinese workers.
