Scholarship worth 850 million VND from British Council
To celebrate 25 years of the world-famous IELTS test, the British Council is launching the British Council IELTS Scholarship programme for those planning to study undergraduate or postgraduate programmes outside Vietnam.
The British Council IELTS Scholarship Programme has two levels of scholarships:
- Up to three scholarships worth VND 85,000,000 each (equivalent to £ 2,500).
- Up to three scholarships worth VND850,000,000 each (equivalent to £25,000) awarded to the three highest scoring candidates across the East Asia region (including Myanmar, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan (China), Thailand and Vietnam)
The scholarship will be transferred directly to the university where the winner intends to study, for the purpose of tuition assistance.
The basic requirement to apply for the scholarship program is that the candidate must have an IELTS result provided by the British Council. IELTS [International English Language Testing System] is the world's leading English language test, designed to assess communication ability in English for educational, immigration and professional recognition purposes worldwide.
The scholarship recipient must begin a course of study at any university, college or other higher education institution abroad in 2014. The institution must use IELTS as one of its admission requirements. Since the IELTS test is accepted by more than 6,000 schools and training institutions in 125 countries worldwide, you are free to choose your desired school and participate in this scholarship program. In the US alone, more than 3,000 schools and training programs accept IELTS results. Along with the growth in the number of US schools accepting IELTS results, the number of IELTS test takers worldwide increased to more than two million in 2013.
