Students enthusiastically "share the fire" with candidates during exam season

(Baonghean.vn) -Along with volunteer student teams from universities and colleges, volunteer club teams, and ward and commune unions accompanying and "supporting" candidates in this year's university entrance exam, there is also the enthusiastic participation of youth volunteer teams from high schools in Vinh City.
Under the hot sun of Vinh city in early July, the young union members wearing green volunteer shirts were still actively "on duty" at traffic intersections and exam sites to support candidates and parents "coming to the capital to take the exam".
Present at the Huynh Thuc Khang High School exam site - the exam venue of Vinh University of Technical Education, besides the school's students participating in the exam season, we noticed a group of young people carefully assisting candidates and parents with free parking right in front of the school gate. "Uncle, uncle, come here to park your vehicle. We accept parking completely free of charge", a volunteer excitedly said. The openness and enthusiasm of the volunteers eased the anxiety and confusion of candidates and parents when they arrived at the exam site. When asked, we learned that they were the youth volunteer team of Huynh Thuc Khang High School participating in the "Support for Exam Season" program.
Tran Duy Phuong, a student of class 11A9, captain of the Youth Volunteer Team (TNTN) of Huynh Thuc Khang school, said: "Participating in this year's exam support program are about 25 students in the school, mainly students of grades 10 and 11, and divided into 2 groups of the university entrance exam. We do jobs such as free parking, consulting on accommodation, keeping things, consulting on routes... for candidates and parents when they come to the exam site." Before entering the 2013 university entrance exam, the TNTN group was trained by the school's Youth Union in necessary skills, assigned specific tasks to each department to be able to provide maximum support to the candidates.

The Youth Volunteer Team of Huynh Thuc Khang High School provides free parking for candidates and parents going to the exam site.
Because they are familiar with the families near the school, the school's TNTN team also surveyed and found 60 cheap, free rooms to help the students have a place to stay during the exam days. The difficulty that the TNTN team encountered was that the university entrance exam took place on hot days, coinciding with the time when students had to study extra and review to prepare for the new school year. In addition, the operating budget for the group was also very small, most of the students had to go out and ask for sponsorship from businesses and philanthropists. However, the students still overcame the difficulties to "share the burden" with the students and their parents during the university entrance exam days; and the parents were also assured to let their children participate in volunteering. "Being able to accompany and support the seniors taking the university entrance exam in 2013, we feel very happy and proud to have contributed a small part to the overall success of this exam", Tran Duy Phuong shared.
Like Phuong, the members of the TNTN team all feel excited when accompanying the candidates. Being the second year participating in the exam season support program, Vu Ngoc Van - a student of class 11B2, Huynh Thuc Khang school happily said: "Through the exam season support program, I feel that I have become more mature and confident. More importantly, I feel that my work helps candidates and parents from other places who come to the city and are still confused."
Mr. To Hoai Son - Secretary of the Youth Union of Huynh Thuc Khang High School said: "This is the 7th consecutive year that Huynh Thuc Khang High School has participated in the exam support program. Through each program, the students in the school enthusiastically participated and completed the assigned tasks well. With the action goal "Rest assured, we are with you", we are confident that the school's volunteers are truly trustworthy companions for each candidate".
