Surpassing more than 340 thousand candidates nationwide, Huynh Thanh Than (Class 11B1, Tran Binh Trong High School, Khanh Hoa province) won first prize in the 3rd contest "Youth learning and following Ho Chi Minh's moral example".

This morning, June 11, in Ho Chi Minh City, the final round of the 3rd contest “Youth studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh” took place with 30 contestants selected from more than 340,000 registered candidates nationwide. The contest was jointly organized by the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

After 3 rounds of intense competition, student Huynh Thanh Than excelled over many other students and teachers to win first prize.

The 5 contestants who won second prize were: Dinh Thanh Thong, Do Van Hoai Giang, Bui Tri Dung and Vo Thi Kim Loan (all students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University) and teacher Ta Ngoc Hoang Mai (teacher of Phuoc Tan Secondary School, Phu Yen province).

The remaining 24 contestants won third prize.

According to Dr. Nguyen Thi Nghia, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, this year's contest attracted more than 340,000 contestants from across the country, including students studying abroad (21 countries), registering to participate, 4 times higher than the second contest (2015) and 10 times higher than the first contest (2013).

“That proves that young generations in Vietnam and living abroad are very interested in the ideology and morality of President Ho Chi Minh; the profound values ​​in his will; learning about sovereignty over seas and islands... thereby contributing to moral education and nurturing revolutionary ideals for the young generation,” said Ms. Nghia.

Evaluating the contest, Mr. Vo Van Phu, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department emphasized: "Through this contest, we contribute to implementing Directive No. 42-CT/TW dated March 24, 2015 of the Secretariat on the Party's leadership in educating the revolutionary ideals of the young generation and implementing Decision No. 1501/QD-TTg dated August 28, 2015 of the Prime Minister on the Project to Strengthen Education on Revolutionary Ideals and Lifestyle Ethics for Youth, Teenagers and Children in the 2015-2020 period", Mr. Phu said.
