5th grade student drowned in dam

(Baonghean.vn) - Authorities of Son Thanh commune (Yen Thanh) said that at around 10:00 a.m. on May 1, the body of Nguyen Cong Quang (grade 5, Nghi Van Primary School, Nghi Loc) was found under Khe Tang dam (Son Thanh).

On the morning of May 1, Quang and two friends went fishing at Khe Tang Dam and unfortunately slipped into the water. Immediately after receiving the information, local authorities and people launched a rescue operation, but because the water in the dam was large and the dam bed was uneven, the search was difficult. After 2 hours of searching, the authorities found the victim's body.

It is known that due to difficult circumstances, Quang's parents had to go to the South to work as factory workers. Since childhood, Quang lived with his grandmother in hamlet 19, Nghi Van commune.

Khe Tang Dam - where Quang had an accident is under renovation. Recently, due to heavy rain, water flooded into the dam, so the renovation had to be temporarily stopped. According to our observations, there are no signs or fences around Khe Tang Dam.
