Nghe An students won 4 prizes at the National Science and Technology Research Competition

The National Science and Technology Research Competition for high school students is an annual activity organized by the Ministry of Education and Training for many years.

This year's competition was held at Ton Duc Thang University - Ho Chi Minh City from March 19 to 21, 2025. Participating in the competition were 212 projects in 20 fields from 62 Departments of Education and Training, 12 units of universities, colleges, institutes, research institutes with high schools; high schools under ministries and ministerial-level agencies.

After 3 days of competition, the jury selected 120 topics to award prizes, including 12 first prizes; 36 second prizes; 36 third prizes and 36 fourth prizes. From the first prize-winning topics, the Ministry of Education and Training will select topics to participate in the 2025 International Science and Technology Competition scheduled to be held in May 2025 in the US.

As a result, two students Tran Quang Nhat and Nguyen Thi Minh Dan - Vinh University High School for the Gifted also excellently won the Second Prize with the project "Research on synthesis of Ag/rGO Nanocomposite materials oriented towards application as conductive ink" in the field of Chemistry.

The Mechanical Engineering project "Multi-purpose fine dust filter using adhesion and centrifugal technology" by Tran Duc Manh and Le Nam Truong - Le Viet Thuat High School won third prize.

In addition, student Cao Vo Long with the project in the field of System Software "Software to support teaching and learning programming at Codedrg High School" and students Ngo Tran Bach, Nguyen Tai - Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted with the project: Research and construction of a virtual traditional room website in the field: Embedded systems were also awarded the Promising prize of the competition.

The National Science and Technology Research Competition for high school students is an annual activity organized by the Ministry of Education and Training for many years.

This is a useful playground that contributes to promoting junior high school and high school students to gradually develop their scientific research capacity; encouraging students to creatively apply the knowledge they have learned to solve real-life problems; innovating teaching methods and assessment methods in schools, and at the same time shifting from mainly equipping knowledge to forming students' qualities and capacities according to the innovative spirit of the 2018 General Education Program.

This year, Nghe An education sector will not organize a regular science and technology competition as in previous years. Instead, educational institutions with completed projects will send their documents to the Department for project evaluation and selection to compete in the national science and technology competition. After more than 1 month of implementation, the whole province has 86 projects submitted to compete at the national level.
