Highland students learn to fight sexual abuse

(Baonghean.vn) - The 'Golden Bell' contest on adolescent reproductive health attracted thousands of students in Anh Son district to follow and respond.

On the morning of October 15, 2017, at the hall of Anh Son 2 High School, the Department of Population - Family Planning of Nghe An province coordinated with the Population Center and Anh Son District Youth Union to organize the Golden Bell Contest "Learning about knowledge about population/family planning and reproductive health for adolescents and youth".

The contest was attended by 100 students from 4 high schools in the district including: Anh Son 1 High School, Anh Son 2 High School; Anh Son 3 High School and the Center for Continuing Education.

Candidates went through 3 rounds: warm-up, acceleration and finish through multiple choice question packages related to issues such as: measures to prevent sexual abuse in children, prevention of pregnancy risks in school-age girls, contraceptive measures, HIV/AIDS prevention...

Contestants must answer 30 questions, including 25 interesting questions about population/family planning policy, knowledge of reproductive health for adolescents and youth, 3 questions about youth organizations, and 2 questions about the history, people, and land of Anh Son.

Among them, there are many very close, practical, and direct issues that have an immediate impact on the lives, activities, and psychological development of high school students such as: signs of puberty, the harmful effects of teenage pregnancy, safe contraceptive methods, what to do when sexually abused, population characteristics in the locality where students live, learning about the Law on Marriage and Family of Vietnam...

The contest is a useful and healthy playground for students to demonstrate their talents, intelligence, creativity and is an opportunity to exchange and share knowledge and views on social issues, especially in the fields of population, family planning, and reproductive health for adolescents and youth, in response to the National Action Month on Population in 2017.
