Hoi An has now become the second most popular tourist city in Asia.

According to Conde Nast Traveler's annual survey, which is considered the most prestigious survey of the global travel industry, Hoi An has jumped to the top of the list of the most attractive cities in Asia.

After making it into the world's top 10 destinations for the first time last year, Hoi An has now become the second most popular tourist city in Asia, behind only Kyoto (Japan).

Announced in New York on October 15, the results of Conde Nast Traveler's 26th annual survey ranked five Vietnamese hotels and resorts among the prestigious travel magazine's top hotels and resorts.

The 112-year-old Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi ranked fifth in the list of the top 25 hotels in Southeast Asia. Park Hyatt Saigon, Sofitel Plaza Hanoi and Sofitel Saigon Plaza also made the list.

The Nam Hai was voted one of Asia's top 10 resorts, rising from 14th place last year.

The survey was initiated in 1988 by Conde Nast, one of the world's most prestigious magazine publishers. Readers rate nominees on a five-point scale based on a set of criteria. Hotels and resorts must receive a minimum number of votes to be eligible for the award./.
