Provincial Red Cross Society: Total value of humanitarian activities in 2017 is nearly 35 billion VND

In 2017, the provincial Red Cross chapters at all levels implemented many practical and effective movements and campaigns to care for and assist disadvantaged people, arousing the spirit of mutual love and support in the community.

Humanitarian projects and programs are implemented in a public, transparent, timely and targeted manner. In 2017, the total value of activities of the provincial Red Cross at all levels reached 34 billion 667 million VND.

Social activities in the year reached 24 billion 771 million VND, "Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims in the spring of Dinh Dau" alone mobilized and organized the giving of 38,906 gifts to poor households and Agent Orange victims with a total value of more than 18 billion 638 million VND.

In addition, activities such as "Humanitarian medical examination and treatment, community health care", "Each organization, each individual associated with a humanitarian address" were implemented by all levels of the association with many creative ways, aiming at sustainable, long-term assistance, close to the needs of the subjects. The "Kitchen of Love" model continued to be maintained at 10 units. The humanitarian blood donation program mobilized and received 29,510/25,000 units of blood (reaching 118%).

The Red Cross Society cooperated with Nghe An Radio and Television to produce and broadcast 24 "Humanitarian Bridge" programs; actively mobilized organizations, individuals, and philanthropists to organize charity music nights, place donation boxes at public places, donate breeding cows, and give savings books...

In 2017, many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the work of the Association and the Red Cross movement were awarded by the Central Red Cross Society and the Provincial Red Cross Society.

On this occasion, the Provincial Red Cross Society received 10 tons of rice from Nghe An Agricultural Materials Company to support the "Bowl of Love Porridge" activity in districts, cities and towns in 2018./.
