Nghe An Province Nursing Association determined to make a difference in service quality
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 3, Nghe An Provincial Nursing Association held a Congress to summarize the 2017-2022 term and set out the direction of activities for the 2022-2027 term.

Attending the event were Mr. Pham Duc Muc - Chairman of Vietnam Nursing Association, leaders of relevant departments, branches, nursing associations of neighboring provinces and delegates from 36 branches.
Remarkable results
During the 2017-2022 term, Nghe An Provincial Nursing Association achieved remarkable achievements, developing 2 more branches, increasing 1,770 members, currently having 36 branches and 5,409 members.
Twice a year, the Association launches and effectively implements many emulation movements; coordinates with the Department of Health to advise on the implementation of many training sessions, organizes many cultural and sports movements and charity activities, provides medical examination and treatment, and provides free medicine, etc.

During the past term, the Department of Health and units in the industry have paid attention to training to improve the qualifications of nurses, the rate of professional qualifications increased during the term. The competition for professional skills, the competition for excellent nurses - midwives - technicians is maintained every 2 years in all medical units.
Scientific research activities and technical innovation initiatives have made many remarkable contributions. The branches have built many activities with their own marks and maintained support activities, helping each other in expertise, encouraging and visiting sick members, helping members withdifficult circumstances, suffering from serious illness. During the Covid-19 pandemic, members clearly understand their role, always taking the lead in tracing, sampling, testing, vaccination campaigns...
With outstanding contributions, in the 2017-2022 term, 19 members were awarded the title of Good Medical Ethics by the Provincial People's Committee, 712 members were awarded the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level, 88 members were awarded certificates of merit and 2,620 members were awarded certificates of merit.

The congress also frankly acknowledged the shortcomings and limitations of the past term and drew out the causes and lessons for the future. Attending the congress, many delegates presented quality and unique opinions.
Determined to make a difference
The Congress set out the direction and tasks for the 2022-2027 term with the goal of: Expanding the organization and quality of activities to enhance the representativeness of the Association, effectively implementing the education and training of members to become officials who "know how to respect patients, people, colleagues; know how to comply with procedures; know how to say thank you to patients/people".
Determined to make a difference in the quality of care services with the motto "Responsibility - Professionalism - Quality - Safety, towards people's satisfaction", the Association will continue to strengthen and develop the nursing system organization, ensuring effective operation,improve qualitypatient care and satisfaction, enhancing the quality of training and scientific research.

In addition, the association will launch emulation and communication movements to implement the "Vietnamese Nursing Ethics Standards", "Innovation in the service style and attitude of medical staff towards people's satisfaction" and promote the role of helping and protecting the legitimate rights of members, strengthening consulting work, and coordinating with organizations to improve the quality of activities.
Speaking at the congress, Mr. Pham Duc Muc - Chairman of the Vietnam Nursing Association acknowledged the achievements of the association in the past term and affirmed that Nghe An Nursing Association is in the top 10 most effective nursing associations in Vietnam.
Believing that the changes in the past year have brought the nursing profession to a new stage with more development opportunities, however, there are still many disadvantages and limitations of the nursing profession, the head of the Vietnam Nursing Association hopes that society and the government need to re-evaluate the importance and functions of the nursing profession to ensure development.
In the coming time, Nghe An needs to develop the association system in both public and private health care; strengthen the role and function of policy criticism and consultation; pay attention to the index of 25 nurses/10,000 people set forth in Resolution No. 20-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017...

Speaking on behalf of the industry leaders at the congress, Dr. Nguyen Huu Le, Deputy Director of the Department of Health, accepted the comments of the President of the Vietnam Nursing Association, affirming that in the past 3 years of the epidemic, members of the Nghe An Nursing Association have fulfilled their mission with the highest sense of responsibility, pledging that the Department of Health will always accompany and create the best conditions for the association to operate and develop.
With 100% consensus, the congress elected 38 comrades to the Executive Committee for Term VII (2022-2027).

At the congress, the Vietnam Nursing Association, the Department of Health, the Provincial Science and Technology Union, and the Nghe An Nursing Association awarded collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the past time.
