Central Council of Young Pioneers and UNICEF train key union cadres of Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 11, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union coordinated with the Central Council of Young Pioneers and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to organize a training conference to improve the capacity of key officials on supporting the enhancement of essential 21st century skills and innovation capacity for children.
Attending the event were comrades: Le Hai Long - Member of the Standing Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Youth Union's Children's Work Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers; Le Van Luong - Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Council of the Young Pioneers; Thai Minh Sy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union; representatives of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and officers in charge of children from 21 districts, cities and towns in Nghe An.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, comrade Le Hai Long - Deputy Head of the Central Youth Union's Children's Affairs Department, Vice Chairman of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers said that in recent times, the Central Council of the Young Pioneers has made many efforts to seek partners from international organizations operating in the field of children, in order to increase resources not only in terms of material resources, but also in terms of experience and capacity to implement activities to protect, care for and educate children in accordance with the current situation in the country and in the world.
The Central Council of the Young Pioneers has been implementing coordination activities with UNICEF since 2019 through activities such as children's voice forums, responding to World Children's Day, etc.

“The Central Youth Union has worked with UNICEF Vietnam to develop a cooperation program for the coming time, in which the coordination to build a social club for Vietnamese children is the initial activity. This training course will be implemented in 3 provinces and cities, of which Nghe An is the first location,” said comrade Le Hai Long.
The representative of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers also expressed the hope that, based on the available experience, along with useful information shared by UNICEF, the team of Youth Union and Young Pioneers of Nghe An will coordinate and support to develop practical and creative models for children in the province, creating a premise for replication nationwide.

On March 11, the Youth Union staff and key teams at the provincial and district levels of Nghe An were introduced by lecturers from UNICEF about the Strategy for Enhancing Essential Skills for the 21st Century and the Social Innovation Program and the journey ahead.
The program aims to develop capacity, support the learning of local youth, help equip them with 21st century skills and competencies, improve teamwork and problem-solving skills, and provide opportunities for young people to volunteer and contribute to local development.

Next, on March 12-14, the training conference will continue to guide the establishment and operation of grassroots clubs for the direct implementation of the Youth Union staff./.
