Tuong Duong Association for the Promotion of Education, 3rd Congress

(Baonghean.vn) -On October 2, Tuong Duong Association for Promotion of Education solemnly held the 3rd Congress of Delegates and the Congress to commend "Families - Clans of studiousness" and "Community of Promotion of Education".

Attending the congress were Dr. Tran Xuan Bi - Chairman of Nghe An Association for Promotion of Education and representatives of the District Party Committee, District People's Council and representatives of Associations for Promotion of Education of 18 communes and towns in the district.

Determining that the work of promoting learning must start from families and clans, the Association for Promoting Learning of Tuong Duong district successfully organized a conference to commend studious families, studious clans, and learning promotion communities with many new models and new directions for the work of promoting learning.



The provincial Association for the Promotion of Education donated 10 million VND to the Tuong Duong Association for the Promotion of Education.

Over the past five years, the emulation movement to encourage learning in Tuong Duong district has developed strongly in both scale and quality. Tuong Duong district has organized Learning Promotion Associations in all types and residential areas, with the current number of members being over 18,500 people, accounting for 27.1% of the population. 100% of communes and towns have established grassroots associations, with 231 branches under grassroots associations, of which 137/154 are village, hamlet, and block associations (accounting for 88.96%), an increase of 39 branches over the previous term, 59 are school associations and 23 are clan and hometown association education promotion committees. There are 11,158 studious families at all levels (accounting for 69.2% of the total number of households in the district).

In the past 5 years, the Association has mobilized 3,131 million VND from the Education Promotion Fund (an average of 9,200 VND/person/year), rewarded and granted scholarships to thousands of excellent students at all levels, including 1,500 scholarships for poor students who have overcome difficulties, rewarded 1,043 excellent students at all levels and 1,017 excellent teachers, donated 20,000,000 VND to the education promotion funds of 4 communes and 2 clans, donated 3 bookshelves to 2 clans and 1 village association.

In order to create a vibrant, in-depth, and sustainable emulation movement in the community, every year the District Association for Promotion of Education launches emulation themes such as: "Tet for Promotion of Education", "Month for Promotion of Education", "Drumbeat for Promotion of Education", "Mid-Autumn Festival following Uncle Ho's words". The Association has coordinated with the Association of Former Teachers, Associations for Promotion of Education of schools to mobilize students and members to participate in helping and nurturing weak students, students with disabilities... Thereby contributing to improving the quality of comprehensive education.

The District Association for Promotion of Education has also coordinated with the Department of Education and Training to advise on the project to establish a Community Learning Center, the Action Program "Building Tuong Duong District into a Learning Society", regularly coordinating with the District Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Culture and Information, Dan Tri Newspaper, Tuong Duong electronic information portal, the Central Association's Website, and the Provincial Association to post nearly 100 articles promptly reflecting grassroots education promotion activities.

In the next 5 years (2012 - 2017), Tuong Duong Association for Promotion of Education strives for 100% of villages and hamlets to establish and operate the association effectively, 100% of member families to achieve the title of studious families; 100% of villages and schools to effectively implement the movement "Drumbeat for Promotion of Education".

On this occasion, the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education donated 10 million VND to the Association for Promotion of Education of Tuong Duong district and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province also donated 20 million VND to the District Association for Promotion of Education as a fund for promotion of education.
